We had a few different sleds with us and they changed back and forth regularly. The ones they could go the farthest on – right to the backstop made of bales – were the round sleds affectionately called “the puke-inators”.
The kids had to try to slow down on “the puke-inators” before slamming into the bale backstop. Claire wasn’t always so successful …
Ren, on the other hand, really dug in his heels well before hitting the backstop. He only had to slam into it once – hard – to learn his lesson!
Although Mom and I weren’t sledding, it was still really fun – and sweet – to watch the big and little kids (ie. Paul, Claire and Ren). Mom remarked more than once during the weekend what a good dad Paul is. I whole-heartedly agree.
Check out the bottom middle picture in the collage above. Claire was giggling about their wipe-out and fell backwards with laughter.
When everyone had had enough, we enjoyed hot cocoa outside (made using the same recipe my mom always used for us) and enjoyed the scent of a nearby campfire. It was a lovely afternoon with my kiddos, my hubby and my mama.
