One of the best things about my brother’s wedding weekend was having family stay with us. Most of my siblings and their families stayed in hotels but I convinced my brother Geoff, his wife Marlene and their daughter Jade to stay with us. It didn’t take much convincing: they knew our three kids would have such a wonderful time together. To top off all the fun, Mom stayed here too!
Jade is four. She’s a super-imaginative artist, loves her “Steppy” (a little stuffie hamster – how could I not have captured her with Steppy?!), and says the funniest things. She had me in stitches the entire weekend. Oh, and she had the cutest little dance moves!

They loved going on the tire swing together and being pushed by Paul:
Once all the wedding festivities were completely done, I took Jade to the little park across the street to collect leaves for leaf-rubbing art. Well, that was her agenda. Mine was to photograph her!
Jade has the most beautiful hair. She’s never had it cut, not even a little bit. Marlene usually keeps it in braids to prevent knots but I asked for these pigtails for our little excursion so that I could capture her lovely locks.
Thank you, Jade, for letting me photograph you! We miss you and hope to see you again soon! xoxo
