Lighthouses, beaches, ice cream and royalty

On Monday, we explored. First stop: Victoria-by-the-Sea, a beautiful town full of quaint inns, charming shops and talented artisans.

The stairs to the second level were a little scary but the kids managed!

Island Chocolates, where I had the yummiest coffee ever: a few tablespoons of melted milk chocolate, coffee and whipped cream.

Cute window display. My kids had a big discussion about whether the display was real chocolate.

Next stop: Argyll Provincial Park

And last but not least, Dalvay-by-the Sea:Dalvay by the sea

This hotel was featured in the Anne movies as the White Sands hotel. Also, when Prince William and Princess Kate were honeymooning in Canada last year, they visited Dalvay and Prince William performed a helicopter demo on the lake there. Their “presence” at Dalvay is still evident!

Are they real?
real or not
Nope! They’re flat.

We ended the day by settling into our new home away from home: Kindred Spirits in Cavendish, a beautiful B & B where we had our own two-bedroom cottage. With Green Gables only a minute and a half away by foot, guess where we went the very next day?
