Red and turquoise Christmas shoot: my “deer” ones are feeling merry

In anticipation of Christmas, I sewed Claire a little skirt and did a couple of appliques on t-shirts for the kids. The Joel Dewberry fabric on Claire’s top and skirt inspired me to create a deer silhouette for Ren’s shirt. I guess I got a little carried away with the theme – maybe it’s kinda cheesy – but I still think it’s cute on the kids. Besides, they are only five so they can still pull it off!

We did a little photo shoot on Friday at the Muttart Conservatory on the way to Claire’s violin lesson. I have a ton of photos, some serious, some goofy. I’ll start with the more serious ones.

Props like this fake candy cane can be both a blessing and a curse. I think it looks cute in some photos but I didn’t really want it used in every single shot! Ren wouldn’t part with it, though.

At least I could edit it out in some photos:

I have no idea how I managed to get the candy cane away from Ren for this photo and still get a smirk from him!

As you can probably tell from these shots, Claire was a pretty serious little poser during the shoot.

But then suddenly she’d do something like this:

More goofy pics to come!
