Grandma Dar’s

We were all invited over to Shea’s parents’ house one evening. We all refer to Shea’s mom as “Grandma Dar” and are always thrilled to see her, as she too is one of our China travel-mates from 2007.

Caia was in her glory at her Grandma’s house, especially because her many cousins were there too! What a fun household it was for the five-and-under set that day! The girls all got along famously, playing dressup and some sort of three muskateers game (even though there were a lot more girls than three!). Their screams as they ran from anyone wielding a camera could be heard from far and wide.

Meanwhile, the two young boys claimed the couch in the basement:

Check out Beckett’s hockey gloves!

Outside, the kids had a blast in the little pool:

And little Scarlett demonstrated just how absorbent swimmer diapers are:

Here, Caia enjoys a moment with her cousin Ayven and friend Ava:

And then, after dinner, we were treated to dessert by Carly Cupcake! Shea’s sister makes the best cupcakes ever!

With full bellies, the three foster sisters (Claire, Kennedy and Maeve) took control of the couch and zoned out. The boys wisely vacated the couch without complaint.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good photo of our host – my photos of Darlene are all blurry! Probably because she was a busy woman that day. But thank you again Grandma Dar for a wonderful day at your home!

  • Great pics Monica! That was such a special evening for me because it brought both of my families together, and I was thrilled that everyone had a chance to meet.

I still hear the little girl shrieks as I walk down those hallways…ReplyCancel
