Catch-up from early July

Wayyyyy back in early July before heading to Saskatchewan, my little family picked up Rod and Marianne in our handy-dandy minivan and headed out to the Ukrainian Village. It was a beautiful day, save for the incredibly nasty mosquitoes!

We visited the village last fall but it was still nice to visit again, especially with our good friends. The kids enjoyed touring the homes, shops and grain elevator and we all enjoyed a wagon ride.

Doesn’t Ren look an old-time gas jockey in the photo below?

And here he is waiting for the train. Unfortunately, he would have been waiting a long time. It was a Sunday and the train doesn’t run on Sundays!

After our great Ukrainian Village visit, we headed over to Marianne and Rod’s for a home-made Ukrainian meal! (Okay, so neither Rod or Marianne are Ukrainian but you’d never know it from the yummy fare they served up!)

  • It amazes me how you get such perfect light in all of your photos. These are all beautiful.ReplyCancel

  • Awesome shots Monica!

I remember you visiting this same The Ukrainian Village last fall and it made me really want to be there! I distinctly remember a photo of your hubby standing in front of the little grass roof house(?), along with the kids.

If we ever make it out there, I'd visit for sure!

  • Trust me, we had so much fun that day that we will always remember it! I have a couple of great pictures of both of the kids waiting at the train station that I will always cherish. OK, they are nowhere near as beautiful as Monica's photos but the memories are what is treasured. I am quite certain that we all must have some Ukrainian hidden deep inside!ReplyCancel
