One sixteenth

Can you guess which little peanut in our family started violin lessons today?
The title of the post is a hint.
Which of our kids is such a peanut that he or she would require a violin that is 1/16th the standard size?

If you guessed Claire, you’re right! And her teacher said her violin is perhaps is even a little large for her and that we could have went with the 1/32nd instead.

She was so excited for her lesson today. She skipped all the way to class and was eager to learn how to hold the bow and violin, even though our lesson for today was to consist solely of learning “bunny fingers” – a way to hold her hand to prepare for holding a bow. I did prepare her before class that it may be some time before she actually will play the violin. I hope she remains eager without becoming too impatient. It’s a fine line for this little one!

  • I love the violin, it is the road to learning how to actually play that isn't so enjoyable! That violin is so cute and I am sure Claire will do great!ReplyCancel

  • Oh my goodness! How exciting for Claire (and what a cute little violin)! I can't wait to see her on stage one day. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • I love the pictures. Your perspective really emphasizes the smallness of Claire's violin. Here's to making music.ReplyCancel
